Create a Digital Home Inventory for Insurance

Homeowners, renters: Take an hour of your day to create a digital home inventory of things in your home before a potential wildfire disaster.

This can make all the difference in your insurance claim later. Save a walkthrough video + photos (and back them up to the cloud). Keep receipts or proof of purchase whenever possible.

Examples to document:
• Each room (wide-angle + close-ups)
• High-value items (jewelry, watches, art, collectibles)
• Electronics (TVs, laptops, cameras, gaming systems)
• Appliances (kitchen + laundry)
• Furniture (beds, sofas, tables)
• Designer or specialty clothing, handbags, shoes
• Tools, equipment, and garage contents
• Outdoor items (patio furniture, grills, landscaping features)
• Serial numbers, model numbers, and brand names
• Inside cabinets, closets, drawers (don’t skip these)
• Receipts, appraisals, warranties, and order confirmations
