East L.A. Oil Spill Alert

Los Angeles County Public Health officials are responding to a crude oil spill in East Los Angeles after a ruptured pipeline released approximately 2,400 gallons of oil near Cesar Chavez and Eastern avenues.

Public health officials advised residents experiencing outdoor odors to remain indoors, close windows and doors, and turn off HVAC systems that pull in outside air until odors pass.

Reported symptoms associated with exposure may include headaches, nausea, irritation, dizziness, and breathing difficulties.
