Our Client Onboarding Process

Stage 1: Initial Consultation & Intake

  • When you first contact our office, you’ll speak with a member of our staff who will ask intake questions specific to your type of case — whether it involves a personal injury, employment dispute, or wildfire claim.

  • During this call, we’ll explain how our contingency fee structure works: you pay no fees upfront, and our firm’s fee is 33.3% (one-third) of your total recovery. If litigation becomes necessary, this percentage will adjust to reflect the additional time and costs involved.

  • Once your intake is complete, your information is reviewed and discussed directly with Attorney Angela Jae Chun, who personally evaluates all potential cases.

  • Our team strives to respond within 24–48 hours after your initial intake to let you know if:

    • We can represent you;

    • We recommend another firm that may be better aligned with your needs; or

    • We suggest a referral through the San Diego County Bar Association or another trusted source.

Stage 2: Documentation & Agreements

  • Once your case has been accepted by our firm, our office will send you Opening Documents within 24 hours via DocuSign. These typically include:

    • Contingency Fee Agreement

    • Authorization Form

    • HIPAA Release Form

  • Once you’ve reviewed and signed these documents, we’ll follow up with next steps, which usually include:

    • A Dropbox link to securely upload your records, photos, and other supporting materials; and

    • A list of specific documents needed to open your case file (e.g., insurance cards, medical records, incident reports).

  • If you prefer, you can also set up your Client Portal in CLIO and upload your documents directly through that secure system instead of Dropbox.

  • After we receive your signed documents, our team will issue a Letter of Representation to notify insurance companies, employers, or opposing parties that our firm represents you.

Stage 3: Case Management & Communication

  • Once your file is opened, your case will be assigned to our paralegal, who will serve as the case manager and your primary point of contact throughout your case.

  • Attorney Angela Jae Chun, will oversee all strategy, negotiation, and litigation decisions to ensure your case receives the highest level of attention and advocacy.

  • We’ll keep you informed at every stage — from medical treatment and lien resolution to settlement discussions or litigation, if needed.

  • You can reach us anytime by phone, email, or through your CLIO Client Portal. Our team is committed to responding promptly and keeping you informed every step of the way.
